I looked for God, and found Him in the silence,
When no one's home, and all is still and quiet;
For He is there, between the storm and violence
In ways He can't be found while in the riot.
Here, sitting by myself, He comforts me
When all around is empty, lonely, cold;
He waits for me to seek Him and be free
From fear, and opens up His arms to hold.
Five days of Lent: O Lord, be never far,
For I need You to free me from my sin.
Be here with me, be Thou my sun and star;
To Thy great kingdom guide me surely in.
I thank You, God; You leave us not alone;
You even came to us in flesh and bone.
