O Emmanuel [Advent: Day 24 of 28]

O Emmanuel, our king and our lawgiver,
the hope of the nations and their Savior:
Come and save us, O Lord our God.

Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Emmanuel. - Isaiah 7:14

Our Hope long-prophesied now comes to us:
Emmanuel, God with us, virgin-born.
Our king and our lawgiver cometh thus:
Of all creation, He is the firstborn.
O, come and save us, Christ, Anointed One,
Who sits on David's throne to set us free;
O come, come Thou who art both star and sun:
Come now, our Hope, and listen to our plea!
Emmanuel, God with us, God on earth,
A sign to all with eyes and ears to know:
A miracle, amazing virgin birth,
For only through our God can this be so.
O come, Thou hope of nations, quickly come
And save before we can to sin succumb!
